Here, for your dilection is a documentary film on Delhi and its environs from 1938. The film was made by Jack Cardiff and shot in glorious Technicolour.

  Thanks Iain. Wonderful in its technicolor, a bit footloose in its accuracy (e.g. Shah Jahan was Akbar’s grandson; what of attributions to the earlier Delhi Sultanate?). I kept thinking of my grandmother being around the age of those young, sari-ed ladies.
